Seaweed Soup

Seaweed Soup:  I start with
6 cups of water, to which I add
2 Tbsp of Beef Soup Base (I have used beef broth instead of water when I have some on hand)
1 tsp minced garlic (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder - fresh gives the best flavour)
1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
1 tsp soy sauce (any brand will do)
1/2-1 cup dried seaweed depending on taste, I usually use one hand full.
(the seaweed for this soup comes in long strips that you need to break into small bits)
Sliced Roast Beef; I used 4 slices chopped into bits. But you can use whatever beef bits you want (but you don't have to add it either - your choice)
Simmer the soup until the seaweed is soft (it will grow into large pieces, depending on how small the dried seaweed was broken up before putting it into the pot).

Serve the soup with rice on the side. Each person will add rice to their own soup bowl. The only thing you have to do now is ENJOY!
Side note: Seaweed soup is usually served on special occasions in South Korea such as birthdays.  I like to treat my girls with it (yes, the Hong Kong, Thailand and South Korean girls all love this soup, and so does this German/Canadian girl).
