Chicken Tortellini, Ceasar Salad, Broccoli & Garlic Bread

Tonight (Friday) was a rush and somewhat of a disaster (for my standards), I came home from work later than usual, and needed to get supper on within the hour.
The  Chicken Tortellini was cooked in a pot of boiling salted water. I added a jar of Alfredo & Garlic Sauce and poured that over the hot Tortellini.  I put everything into the microwave for 2 minutes to heat the sauce thoroughly.
The broccoli, was put into boiling water for 2 mintues and then drained. However, when the cheese sauce was poured over it, the cheese sauce melted off the broccoli to the bottom of the bowl.  Hmm, the broccoli was still too wet, so next time I have to let it sit for a few minutes to air dry before I pour on the cheese sauce.
The cheese sauce today was Cheese Whiz to which was added some Cayenne Pepper to give it a little more flavour.  When I realized the cheese sauce slid off the broccoli, I made some more at the girls request.  I put 3 Tbsp of Cheese Whiz in a small mircowavable bowl, added 1/4 ish tsp Cayenne Pepper and put it in the microwave for 45 seconds; stirred it and served.
Ceasar Salad: Romaine lettuce cut up (or ripped up, whichever you have time for); Grated Parmaesan Cheese put onto the lettuce leaves - toss.  Ceasar dressing is then added, another good toss, of course the croutons top it off with the final toss and serve.
As you can see in the picture there is no Garlic Bread shown.  We had a mishap, the helper I had, wandered away, so I didn't know there wasn't anyone watching the Garlic Bread in the oven.  I first realized this when the blue smoke was coming out of my oven - I then remembered about the Garlic Bread.  I think I created charcoal slices, maybe instead of putting them into the garbage, I should have put them into the BBQ as briquets? (Yes, it was that bad, and we all had a good laugh).
We also had the left over chicken wings to finish off the meal.
Overall this wasn't my favourite day to be in the kitchen. Although the meal was good, the company was great but the meal preparation was less than desirable - so until tomorrow ENJOY!

  1. Don't we all have days like this? You still had food on the table, and eventually in your bellies.
